UC Davis Week Explores Asian Pacific Islander Issues

April 19-24, Monday to Saturday -- at UC Davis will celebrate culture and explore issues of Asian Pacific peoples. The week officially kicks off at 10 a.m. Monday with live music and entertainment. Other highlights include a discussion of spirituality and Asian American activism at noon Tuesday; a discussion of immigration with Bill Ong Hing, UC Davis professor of law and Asian American studies and author of at noon Wednesday; a panel discussion on local activism for Asian American issues at noon Thursday; a workshop exploring sexism and patriarchy in the Asian Pacific Islander community at 3 p.m. Thursday; a workshop on performance poetry and interpretation at noon and a culture night at 7 p.m. Friday; and "Broken English: APIA Arts & Activism Conference" at 8 p.m. Saturday.
